It was an awesome day in June when we visited Coney Island last, and August 18th will be even better. It was ridiculously packed for the Mermaid Parade when we went, so there will be plenty more elbow room this time…

Let’s meet up at 1pm in the city @ W. 8th & 6th Ave so we can be on the Cyclone by 2:30pm and be downing a Nathan’s beer by 3pm.

logo.gifI bought 12 tickets for the Brooklyn Cyclones game (vs. Staten Island Yankees) that starts at 6pm — seats are all in one row in shallow right field… which will give us an awesome view over left field. We’ll have a few hours to stroll around… jump on a few rides (no haunted house this time) and without question, stop by the Sideshow.

..so far 5 of the 12 tickets are called for…. the tickets are on me, just let me know if you’re coming….

seeing a game at Keyspan will be a good time… as it cools down a bit….

…and the sights and sounds of Coney Island echo through the park…. The stadium is located right next to Astroland which provides the backdrop in left field, along with the Cyclone and Ferris wheel, ….and the ocean and boardwalk fill the horizon beyond right field.

It’s not a small field, you’ll find a 20 foot wall in center at 412 feet, two feet deeper than at Shea.

It’s a good deal at Keyspan Park, with the sausage and peppers being the most expensive item (including the beer) at $5. * foot long Nathan’s hot dogs are served at the field!!! ….and even the parking is only $4 at game time.

Please get back to me sooner than later if I should hold a ticket for you. As most of you know, this will be the final summer for Coney Island as we know it, so definitely consider joining us, especially if you’ve never been…
