Julian Beever has been creating pavement art in the US, Europe, and Australia for about a decade now… if you haven’t heard of him or seen his work, the photos below should be a real treat. It’s unbelievable what this guy is able to do, with each piece tricking our eye more than the one before.

his drawings use methods which appear to defy the laws of perspective….

….the tiles removed from the sidewalk is one of the pieces that demonstrates such tricks the most, and was in fact Julian Beever’s first using the 3D aspect.

It was at that point that he realized that if he could make things go down, he could make them appear to go up too, so he continued to experiment…

“Julian’s ‘trompe l’oeil’ (or ‘trick of the eye’) pavement art is amazing to see.  The effect is so convincing people will swerve to avoid potholes he has drawn in the pavement.”

I’m a big fan of street art, so it’s very exciting to see an artist like this around, with such incredible talent.
