Tumblr is referred to as a “miniblog” rather than a microblog like Twitter. It offers the same instant gratification as Twitter, but with more functionality and media capabilities, allowing you to create a “tumblelog” using it’s intuitive dashboard -
or, even easier — when sharing websites you come across, simply push the “Share on Tumblr” button in your browser’s toolbar!
The developers of Tumblr say “If blogs are journals, tumblelogs are scrapbooks”.
To better describe Tumblr, I quote my friend Soup —
